Team Update

One Body of Hope 2009

Hey team - has anyone mentioned lately how awesome you are? You're the best!

Well, we did it again!  Luminaria sales soared thanks to our dedicated sales team and we earned over $300.00!

Please keep checking the main Relay Web site for updates.  As the Relay gets closer, the site is changing more often.

Check out this year's theme laps!  Sandy Lagueux has generously offered to coordinate the team's theme lap participation, so please check with her for ideas and inspiration.

And Pat Carbone graciously offered her time and talents to help us coordinate what to bring, so we don't all bring everything!  This list gives you an idea of what may come in handy, but ask Pat before you pack -- it might save you some space (not to mention your back, remember -- it's a long haul from the car!).

Remember to get the word out to all the cancer survivors in your life that they should register as a survivor and come out to Relay -- it's such an exhilarating experience.

Are you on Facebook?  Do you Tweet on Twitter or connect on LinkedIn?  If so, don't be shy -- post fundraising challenges, requests and links to your participant page so your friends and followers will have direct access to donate online.  If you have questions about this, give me a call.  I posted a request for donations on my Facebook page and got some results.  Also, there is a RFL of Greater Derry and Londonderry group page on Facebook if your interested; please note that you must already be logged into Facebook to join.

Bank Night is Wednesday, June 17.  I will need to collect your funds before then, as I have to turn them in that night.  Please drop off your envelope at the church (in Trish's office).  If you don't have an official envelope, any old envelope will do and I will transfer the funds to an official envelope before Bank Night.  For those who I didn't get envelopes delivered -- I'M SORRY!!!

If you have any ideas to make the team better, please let Trish or me know.  We plan to have a team meeting in the next few weeks to tidy up details, so please stand by for details.  We're going to rock the Relay!

Until next time...

Do you want to be a part of team in 2009?  Do you have a fun idea for the team, a creative idea for a theme lap costume or a brilliant idea for fundraising?  Don't keep it to yourself -- let me know!  We had a GREAT Relay in 2008, and I expect it to be an even better Relay in 2009.  How can it be otherwise with such a fantastic group and dynamic parish? I look forward to having fun with you all during the planning stage and at Relay in June.  Please check back regularly for updates.  In the meantime, if you have an idea for team fundraising or anything else to make the 2009 Relay successful, please let me know!
